St. Louis Symphony Orchestra

Built as a movie theater in 1925, Powell Hall is the home to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO). SLSO has completed a renovation and expansion of its historic home, improving the audience experience, creating a more nimble, versatile 2,100 seat performance venue, and enhancing and extending the life of Powell Hall – one of America’s most acoustically exceptional and visually stunning music halls – for future generations to enjoy. The Symphony is located in the Grand Center Arts District and is a focal point for urban revitalization along St. Louis’ North and South corridor. The project includes 80,000 SF of historic renovation and a 64,000 SF expansion designed by renowned architecture firm Snøhetta.
