Nine PBS
Nine PBS has served the St. Louis region for 70 years and is the most watched PBS station in the country. This vital public media organization connects and informs the community through compelling national programs, inspiring local content, and initiatives to help our region flourish. The proposed $30M renovation of their nearly 30-year-old facility located in the Grand Center Arts District in St. Louis will support Nine PBS’s efforts to strengthen the region through enhanced multi-media content, educational initiatives, and bringing the community together in purposeful ways. The single-phase, 55,000 SF renovation project will include modifications to the exterior to create a dynamic, accessible destination emphasizing community connectivity. The interior renovations will provide welcoming spaces for visitors and staff to foster creative ideas anchored in strategic thinking. A communicating stair between the first and second floors will create a focal point promoting collaboration and teamwork. Key goals for the project include connectivity, inclusivity, collaboration, and universal design. Building infrastructure upgrades including the elevator will align with current code requirements and support efficiency and sustainability goals.
